Well if anyone is still awake and can tell by the time of this post, it's pretty late but "technically" still Memorial Day since I haven't been to bed. I've been busy today helping John's Dad move into his new home (with a little time by the pool in there too). I spent the day with John's Dad (a Navy veteran) and John's brother (currently serving in the Army) and was able to speak to my FAVORITE veteran my Papaw (a Navy veteran). Anyone who has spent a good deal of time with me understands that I MIGHT be one of the most patriotic people they know. I have been known to teary eyed at a football game or NASCAR race when they play "God Bless the USA" with a large American flag or a Blue Angel's flyover. My sweet friend LCG can understand this soft place in my heart for all things patriotic, as she is also in tears with me during these sporting events. Memorial Day wouldn't be complete without a little Lee Greenwood, so ENJOY and HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Missing KK
This morning I got an email that my precious cousin Kristin had updated her blog. As I've mentioned before, she's spending a year in missions with The World Race. The World Race is an amazing organization that challenges young people to spend 11 months serving the Lord in 11 different countries. KK left right after Christmas and although I know she's showing God's love to people who need it much more than I do, I sure miss her sweet spirit and contagious laughter. I don't think I realized how much we're dependant upon technology. I miss being able to send her a quick text when something hilarious pops into my mind. This was our best form of communication while she was in college at MTSU. It wasn't uncommon to get a text from her with an update on her latest adventure, her physical injuries (we both missed the "graceful" gene in our family), what was going on in ADPi or just words of encouragement. I'm so encouraged by her selflessness and excited to hear that her month in Swaziland is going well.

Wordless Wednesday
This has been (per usual) a super busy week at work. So today while scarfing down my salad at lunch I wanted to celebrate Wordless Wednesday with my favorite little fella Cole Lee. I would love to have his help around the office today.

Oh Google!
I must give it to Google, everything about them is amazing. The nerd in me admires what they've done with their business model, making the phrase "I'll Google that" part of our every day vocabulary. What I'm amazed by today is this new commercial "Dear Sophie".
This touches my heart because my parents did the same thing for me, in the form of handwritten notes. Every year on my birthday, each of my parents would write a letter to me reflecting on what had happened over the past year. They gave me by box of letters on my 21st birthday. I can easily say those 42 letters are my most prized possession. So, enjoy Google's next masterpiece..."Dear Sophie". AND make sure you have tissues.

Wordless Wednesday
Since I haven't done a very good job blogging the pictures from my sister's graduation, I'll share one for Wordless Wednesday.
And I couldn't help but add one of this little guy...

W.O.W. ... What a Wedding!
Hearts all over the world were breaking when it was announced that Prince William was FINALLY engaged to his long-time girlfriend Kate Middleton. I must admit, part of me was one of those girls. As a little girl, my Mom would tell me stories about waking up to see the wedding of Lady Diana to Prince Charles. I knew that when that day came I too would wake up early and watch the Royal Wedding of my lifetime.
I had a book called "Diana, The Fairytale Princess" by child author and illistrator Lucy Butler. I WORE the book out reading it cover-to-cover, dreaming of being a real live princess too. As I got older I did the math and figured out the baby boy in my picture book was the same age as me, and he was quite handsome too! For years I joked that I was destined to marry William, be a "real princess", my new name would be Whitney of Wales and my initials....W.O.W., perfect plan! Well, as we all know my "perfect plan" didn't go as planned and Kate won William's heart. I have adjusted well to life as W.O.W....Whitney of Washington and John is an amazing boyfriend so I have no complaints. :)
I woke up Friday morning as planned and watched The Royal Wedding. It was nothing less than AMAZING! Kate was beautiful, and even the word stunning is an understatement. I noticed how perfectly poised she was as she waved to people during the car ride to Westminster Abby. She looked relaxed and full of joy. I loved seeing the interaction between Kate and her sister. Pippa looked beautiful and proud to share this special day with her sister. I loved seeing William's reaction to seeing his new bride for the first time. Turning to her and saying she was beautiful, is the reaction every girl wants on her wedding day. Kate walked in the church a commoner and out the Dutchess of Cambridge. Their kisses (yes TWO) on the balcony were picture perfect and much better than Charles and Diana. I loved watching Kate smiling and waving as she looked out into the crowd. She was truly happy and enjoying the fact that so many people were there to celebrate her and her new husband...what a feeling! Kate pulled the entire day off with grace and poise. I wonder if someone is in process for the production of "Kate, the Fairytale Princess"? If so, I know there are little girls that will grow up reading about and loving Kate the way that I still adore Princess Diana.

Pharm D to be!
Every week I think TGIF, but this week Friday will be extra special because my sister McKenzie will be graduating from Pharmacy school! I'm counting down the days for her, although I'm pretty sure her countdown began 4 years ago. I'm so proud of my little sister and the wonderful Pharmacist she's going to become!
