It's the most wonderful time of the year!

It's not Christmas quite yet, but FALL!  I'm SO excited that Fall is here!

This weekend the weather is supposed to reflect the season and I can't wait!  I love summer for so many reasons...the beach, baseball games, sundresses and flip flops, outdoor bars and restaurants with live music etc.  But the season of Fall brings everything I love about life all together!

Another thing I'm very excited about is this weekend is my precious friend Michele and her husband Stephen are coming to DC!  Michele and I met when her parents moved in next door to my parents when we were in college.  Michele grew up in Mississippi and went to college at UT, so her first summer in Johnson City we became instant friends!  I adore her family (pup included) and miss seeing them (my parents have since moved from the house next door to the Pettys).  It was so much fun to be present the night Michele and Stephen met, and I was blessed to stand beside her when they got married!

Michele is one of the most genuine and kind people I've ever met. I'm glad to call her my friend, fellow ADPi sister and most specifically sister in Christ.  I'm looking forward to having dinner tomorrow night with Michele and Stephen as well as DC friends Holly and Travis.  They're all the type of people that when you leave you just feel like a better person. They're all very encouraging and lots of fun.

So, wherever the Fall weekend takes you, be it to Rocky Top or somewhere else I hope you enjoy it!

Wednesday Words of Wisdom

After arriving back in DC around 2 am, and a full day of work yesterday I didn't get to post pictures from Wedding Weekend #2.  Never fear, that post is to come.  I wish I had wonderful photographic skills like so many of my friends, because the pictures I took won't even come close to giving justice to the amazing day to celebrate two wonderful people.

In the meantime here's my Wednesday Words of Wisdom (since this post isn't really wordless):

Wedding Weekend #1

McCallie's best!

McCallie's best and their best!

My Handsome Date!
This past weekend we went to Chattanooga for wedding weekend #1.  (We will be back next weekend for #2).  It was great to get to see some of John's best friends and former classmates (and their significant others).   We were in town to celebrate Brittany and Shaun's wedding.  Brittany grew up in the neighborhood with all the guys. She became like a sister to John and his friends, so they couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate her special day.  It had been a year since all of us were together to celebrate Jordan and Krista's wedding.
Krista, Jordan and baby girl Wood (will make her arrival in December)
It wouldn't be a celebration if Brandon and Rachael didn't do their "prom pose".
It's exciting to know that we won't have to wait long to see everyone again since in addition to Julia and Justin's wedding, next weekend is the guy's 10 year McCallie reunion.  It may be lots of traveling, but we've got LOTS to celebrate!  I'm looking forward to going back on Thursday.  Until next time Tennessee!

Cole Lee is a great traveling buddy.  He's resting up for another fun weekend in TN.

Welcome to DC...COLE LEE

HE MADE IT!

I am so happy to have Cole Lee with me!  It was a great weekend getting to visit with Mom and Dad too.  It seems like most trips it is one or the other...it was GREAT to have them BOTH here.  CL is adjusting well to his new home.  He misses his Larry Boy and Momma Kathy, but really enjoys his long walks, the dog park and especially being with his Mommy!  I'm sure there will be many posts to come of Cole Lee and all of his adventures.

Wonderful Video

I couldn't help but share this wonderful video message from Governor Haslam commemorating 10 years since the attacks on September 11.

Happy Anniversary

Two years ago today, I moved to DC.  I have been reminiscing of the move with fellow TN girl Micah. I came across some pictures from the move.

Hugs from my wonderful sister after telling her I got the job and I'm moving to DC!

Mom, McKenzie and my friends threw the most wonderful surprise going away party themed "Red, WHIT and Blue"

I spent as much time as possible with my girls

Celebrating with my work friends

My last weekend in town was also Larry Boy's 60th's birthday.  What a great celebration!

Basically, I realized just how many people love me and wanted to celebrate this big step in my life.  It might have been two years ago, and I may be very far from home, but I know that I have a wonderful family and group of friends that love and continue to support me on a daily basis.  I am so blessed.
