Travel time

Hey yall!

This morning, with mixed emotions I put this handsome fella on a plane to China.
I was filled with lots of excitement for him and the opportunity he has to see a new country - one so full of history and culture, also so proud of him that he was asked to go, and a *tiny* bit sad for him to leave.  It sure will be strange not having him around for a little over a week, and even more strange to not be able to talk on the phone (although glad we can email).  This will be the longest we've been apart and the first time we haven't been together since getting engaged, but then again super excited for him to have the opportunity to go!  I can't WAIT to hear all about his trip!

John's not the only one traveling this week.  Bright and early tomorrow morning Cole Lee and I are traveling to Tennessee!  I can't wait to see my family and friends and spend Easter at home.  I'm going to be working from the state, so I get to be at home for a WHOLE week.  I'm so excited!  I have a few appointments for the wedding and lots of plans to see friends.  So much has happened since I was home for our engagement party.  I get to meet Baby Brooks, my sweet friend (and one of my bridesmaids) Brittany's new baby boy.  I can't wait to be "Aunt Whit" to this special boy!

Easter in the Calhoun family brings fun, food, and the annual Easter Egg Fight.  I've had to miss the past two egg fights because I was traveling back to DC, but I have a feeling this could be my year! I'll bring my A Game and a "special egg".

The summer before our wedding, my husband had the opportunity for a summer internship 3 hours away from where we lived. It was the first time we'd lived in different towns, and he didn't come back until ONE WEEK before the wedding! It was crazy, but a nice little way to make it extra special when we got to be together all the time post-wedding :) I'm sure your fiance will have a fantastic trip!
Hope you had a nice Easter at home!
