Weekend at home

Hey yall!
This weekend was WONDERFUL!  After weekends of travel it was so nice for both of us to be home for a weekend with NO PLANS!  The next two months will be INSANE.  We will both be in DC only two weekends for the next two months.  So many wonderful events.... parties, weddings for friends, and much more.  Something arrived in the mail today that makes me SUPER excited!

Invite for my bachelorette party hosted by my AMAZING sister!
Needless to say I'm on the HUNT for the PERFECT dress.  I have a habit of wearing what McKenzie calls typical "Jackie O" dresses.  I have been told I have to wear a sassy dress for the party.  I didn't have much luck shopping over the weekend,  so the adventure will continue this weekend.

Have a great week!

Spring Cleaning in Place

Hey yall!

Stay tuned for a *new look* for Whitney of Washington.  Hang tight...the "facelift" will be over soon and a pretty new look will be available for all my sweet friends to see.  Rather than closing it down while I update - I've got a "basic" background in place.

I hope yall are having a great weekend.

Travel time

Hey yall!

This morning, with mixed emotions I put this handsome fella on a plane to China.
I was filled with lots of excitement for him and the opportunity he has to see a new country - one so full of history and culture, also so proud of him that he was asked to go, and a *tiny* bit sad for him to leave.  It sure will be strange not having him around for a little over a week, and even more strange to not be able to talk on the phone (although glad we can email).  This will be the longest we've been apart and the first time we haven't been together since getting engaged, but then again super excited for him to have the opportunity to go!  I can't WAIT to hear all about his trip!

John's not the only one traveling this week.  Bright and early tomorrow morning Cole Lee and I are traveling to Tennessee!  I can't wait to see my family and friends and spend Easter at home.  I'm going to be working from the state, so I get to be at home for a WHOLE week.  I'm so excited!  I have a few appointments for the wedding and lots of plans to see friends.  So much has happened since I was home for our engagement party.  I get to meet Baby Brooks, my sweet friend (and one of my bridesmaids) Brittany's new baby boy.  I can't wait to be "Aunt Whit" to this special boy!

Easter in the Calhoun family brings fun, food, and the annual Easter Egg Fight.  I've had to miss the past two egg fights because I was traveling back to DC, but I have a feeling this could be my year! I'll bring my A Game and a "special egg".

Love!

Hey yall!

As promised, I wanted to share the stunning engagement pictures that my sweet and talented life-long friend Holly Guinn took of John and I a couple of weeks ago.  I can't stress enough, how difficult to just pick a few out to share with you because every single one was good!  So....here we go!

I can't thank Holly enough for capturing such wonderful pictures for us in the city where we MET!  If you want to see some of the other work Holly has done you can see her Rainey Day Photography facebook fan page HERE!

Have a great day yall!

Just like Christmas

Hey yall!

It's here...MASTER'S WEEK!

Pinned from here
For some of you this week is all about Easter (which I am also thrilled about and a post later will include my excitement) but in the Calhoun household Master's week is anticipated just like Christmas. I've been to Augusta twice, in 2000 and most recently in 2006.  We enter the drawing every year, but haven't been selected since then.  This doesn't stop us from enjoying it from home.  Here are a few pictures from our last trip.  As you can see we've all changed quite a bit since then. :)

My favorite golfer - Phil Mickelson
So, for those who are into golf, Happy Master's week to you!
