Whew...What a day!

So, I'm totally going to leave out my thoughts and opinions of what transpired with the Supreme Court ruling on the healthcare bill and all the other reasons today was a long emotion-filled day, because #1 that's not why you read my blog, #2 I'm over thinking and talking about it and #3 I'm sure you're over thinking and talking about it too. So rather than, I'll share some fun pictures and experiences from today.

I started out my morning with a run. This isn't different than most mornings these days. The highlight of my run was seeing this guy...

Dude was the FIRST person in line at the SCOTUS ready to see what went down today. I respect his enthusiasm, however I question his outfit choice given its a zillion degrees outside. He wasn't alone though. I was amazed at how many people were outside. Mainly young college-aged men and women. Presumingly, interns on the Hill or for other organizations. Way to go interns making the most of their summer in DC! I commend those who take advantage of being here. Speaking of, we decided before the announcement to walk over and see the crowds that had gathered. I'm so glad we did! We saw everything from belly dancers to a man selling tshirts. There was even music playing! You would have thought it was a festival, not the highest level of the judicial branch of our government issuing a ruling on a historical piece of legislation.

We had to snap a picture of a few of us in front of the steps.

After a busy day at work I relaxed while having my hair trimmed and colored! I don't know about y'all, but having my hair done totally changes my opinion on life. Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration - but I do love having it done. :)

This weekend is my first wedding shower! I'm so excited! It's being thrown by a few of my precious bridesmaids and my amazing maid of honor. I'm so blessed with having these ladies in my life! I'll make sure to take pics and follow up with a recap post.

I hope yall are having a great week and looking forward to the weekend ahead!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey yall!  It's Wednesday -

I'm LOVING that my family is here...

Mom and I - Taken last June, tad bit burned...ooops!
I'm not loving that I'm not with them, but I can be happy for other people.  (I keep telling myself that so I won't be overly jealous!) I hope they're having a great week at the beach!

I'm LOVING that Saturday I got my VEIL!

I'm LOVING that this guy will be 11 years old on Saturday....never fear a birthday post for Cole Lee will follow.  I'm so fortunate to have a happy healthy pup that doesn't look or act his age.  I love him so much!
his hair was a little bit longer here - all cuddled up with his Aunt Kiki

He's resting up to PARTY this weekend

I'm LOVING water.  No, you didn't read that wrong.  This weekend I came across this on Pinterest

It said "To boost weight loss - 2L water, 1 medium cucumber, 1 lemon, 10-12 mint leaves. steep overnight in fridge and drink every day. Also great for general detox--including clear skin!"  Now, I haven't checked that with a medical professional, but it really makes a super refreshing drink.  If it doesn't give the 'results' I hope for it's no major loss because it tastes good - very summery!

And I can't help but add ONE more.... I'm LOVING the anticipation of our honeymoon!  We've been reading lots online and even got a travel book.  Rome here we come!

Have a great day!

Time FLIES...and August is coming quickly

Hey yall!

Can you believe it, the wedding is exactly TWO months from TODAY!  I have a range of emotions, mostly an overwhelming excitement, but also lots of stress.  My to-do list is constantly growing!  I feel like as much as check things off - I find more things to add to it.  I've found that if I keep my list beside me at work, when something pops in my head I immediately write it down and then get back to what I was working on. This prevents me from stressing at a time and place where I can't do anything about it. :)  My Mother has been a LIFE SAVER!  She's a school teacher so she has her summers off and I swear she runs errands or makes phone calls daily for me.  My Aunt has also been such a blessing - offering do anything I ask on her summer break.  Honestly, I have the BEST family and friends.  I feel like everyone I know has offered to help in some way.  My sister has been so busy finishing up her first year of residency, moving, and starting a new job. Regardless of what she has going on in her personal life she finds time to help me out.  I am SO BLESSED!

This weekend we're going back to Tennessee.  Friday our wedding photographers are doing some engagement pictures.  They're such sweet ladies and I'm looking forward to getting to know them better.  I think after the AMAZING pics that my life-long friend Holly took of us in DC, John is becoming a little more comfortable about having his picture taken.  I'm also going for a dress fitting! I got my veil this weekend, so the ensemble is complete!  My Mom will be helping my sister move this weekend so Dad, John, and I are spending the weekend assembling and mailing the wedding invitations.  After seeing the proofs, I LOVE them so much!

So, things are coming together - now all that's left are the little things.  I can hardly believe that we got engaged almost 8 months ago, and I know that the next 2 months will fly by!

Have a great week!

Hey Friday, nice to see ya!

Hey yall!

I can hardly stand it. I'm SO excited it's FRIDAY!  After 4 solid weeks of travel (all wonderful things - I've had a blast), I'm really looking forward to a weekend at home.  We have super glamorous things planned (insert sarcasm) like getting new tires, catching up on TV shows, going to IKEA, cooking at home, going for a long run.  I can't wait (no sarcasm)!  Little Cole Lee has been so confused with all the travel - I know he's looking forward to hanging out at home too.

So, with that, Happy Friday! Whether you're enjoying the summer sunshine, traveling, or just looking forward to being at home - I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Going to the farm and they're gonna get married!

John's best friend Brandon married his precious bride Rachael this weekend in Lebanon (outside of Nashville) on her uncle's farm.  They have been together for....11 years! They went to prom together in high school, dated through college, dated long-distance during med/vet school, and are now married!  I'm so excited for this couple and couldn't be happier for them! Here are a few pics I captured on my iPhone.

Congrats Dr. and Dr. Tindell
Loved the napkins on the wedding party table
Blue was the color of the night
Rach  and her Dad dancing with all the siblings
pretty table decorations for the wedding party table - amazing food too
We had such a fun weekend celebrating with great friends that have accepted me as "part of the family".

My handsome wedding date.  We're NEXT!!

Have a great week!
